Pathway to a Certificate and a Masters Degree for Medical Educators

Medical educators can earn a Medical Educator Certificate and a Master of Education by following these steps:

Step 1:

Attend the Institute for Teaching and Learning in Medicine (ITL-Med).
A comprehensive teacher training for educators in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and physician assistant programs, and practitioners transitioning to academia. This Fellowship provides the skills of a master teacher and is the prerequisite to step 2 on the pathway.

Step 2:

Complete the Medical Educator Certificate.
The Certificate, awarded by AAL and Nova Southeastern University, can be completed after the ITL-Med Fellowship as a terminal achievement or as the next step on the path to a M.Ed. Alumni from any ITL-Med program held since 2013 are eligible for the Medical Educator Certificate and M.Ed.

Step 3:

Earn a Master of Education Degree.
