AAL conducts the interprofessional Chairs and Academic Administrators Management Program (CAAMP) to provide administrative leaders with the tools for academic management, interpersonal relations, and personal development.

Compass Program

AAL conducts the interprofessional Compass Program to provide early to mid-career faculty with one-on-one academic advancement guidance and an understanding of the culture of higher education, with a focus on these topics: planning for promotion and tenure, grant-writing skills, developing a research agenda, writing for publication, building mentor-protégé relationships, balancing work-life goals, and learning to collaborate across health professions. Applicable to both tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty, the Compass Program provides the academic tools that are vital for career planning and management.

Institute for Allied Health Educators
AAL conducts the Institute for Allied Health Educators (IAHE) to assist faculty in the allied health professions—from occupational therapy to dental hygiene—with the latest best practices in teaching, classroom technology, and professional growth. In collaboration with the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), these interprofessional online education and onsite programs with distance learning components give you flexibility and cost-effective professional development opportunities.

Institute for Teaching and Learning
Our flagship program! In collaboration with the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), AAL conducts the Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) to enable current dental faculty—and private practitioners interested in an academic career—to acquire the skills of master teachers. The ADEA/AAL ITL has earned a reputation as dental education's most comprehensive teacher training program.
