Association Research Assistant

The Association Research Assistant now does more than help you find the right resource—it helps you use that resource. Our Research Assistant can now:

  • turn a resource into a leadership team meeting agenda,

  • help you outline a checklist for a new initiative,

  • draft reflection prompts for one-on-one meetings with faculty, or

  • convert parts of our Insight Report into a part of your leadership team summer retreat.

Whether you’re preparing for a conversation, planning professional learning, or designing a new process, the Research Assistant is here to help. To get the most out of it, keep these tips in mind:

  • Name the specific resource. If you know the title of the resource you want used, include the exact title in your request.

  • Give parameters and context. The more details you provide, such as what you’re trying to create, who it’s for, where and when it’s happening, the more tailored the support will be.

  • Take it step by step. Big requests work best when broken down. Ask for an outline first, then refine and build from there.

  • Don’t be afraid to rephrase or encourage. If the first answer doesn’t hit the mark, ask again with a new angle, tell it to try again, or request a different tone.

  • Tell it what you like/don’t like. Be specific. Copy paste language from your own writing and ask it to give you something like what you’ve already written.

  • Iterate and collaborate. Think of it as a conversation. The Assistant improves with back-and-forth refinement.
