Aligning Mission and Curriculum with Your Custom Bot

Dates Offered: June 30 - July 4, 2025

 Course Description

How can we design a curriculum that reflects the unique mission, values, and culture of our schools - while making the most of our time and creativity? This course introduces leaders to the use of custom GPTs as a powerful partner in curriculum design and writing. Whether you’re developing a new elective, revising a core course, or aligning a scope and sequence with school-wide goals, a custom GPT can help you think through the structure, language, and alignment of a traditional or innovative curriculum. You’ll learn how to quickly develop a custom GPT research assistant, evaluate AI-generated content, and adapt it to fit your school’s distinct academic program and community. By the end of the course, you’ll walk away with a solid set of curriculum materials, a clear workflow, and strategies for using a custom GPT to support a thoughtful, mission-driven curriculum. (Note: this course will focus on using OpenAI’s custom GPTs, however, the skills learned can be transferred to other platforms, such as Gemini Gems)

  • Understand the potential of custom bots as strategic tools for supporting mission-aligned curriculum development across departments and grade levels.

  • Design effective prompts that guide custom GPTs to generate cohesive curriculum frameworks, including vertical alignment, interdisciplinary connections and/or assessment planning.

  • Evaluate AI-generated curriculum components for quality, alignment with school mission and values, and adaptability to diverse teaching styles and student needs.
